KEATON ENERGY BOARD APPOINTMENT
Keaton Energy shareholders are advised that Mr John Nicholas Wallington (51) has
accepted an appointment as an independent non-executive director of the company.
Mr Wallington, who has a BSc Mining Engineering degree from the University of
the Witwatersrand, was previously Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Anglo
Coal Division of Anglo American.
He completed the Executive Programme in Strategy and Organisation at Harvard
Business School in 2005 and the Senior Executive Programme at London Business
School in 2002.
Mr Wallington joined Anglo Coal as a mining graduate at Arnot Colliery in 1981
and served as CEO from January 2005 until May 2008. He now works as an
independent consultant to the coal mining industry.
While CEO of Anglo Coal, he was instrumental in the development and
implementation of strategy, focusing on safety, operational performance, profit
and global growth. He played a major role in the completion of Anglo Coal`s
black economic empowerment transaction in 2007, and built and maintained key
regulator and customer relationships internationally.
