CADIZ HOLDINGS - TRADING STATEMENT
Cadiz`s financial results for the six months to 30 September 2008 ("the period")
have been impacted by the turbulence on global and local financial markets.
The resultant weakness and volatility has led to a slowdown in trading
activities across all Cadiz`s business units for the period. At the same time
returns on the group`s investment capital have been negatively impacted by the
downturn in financial markets.
Cadiz`s operating businesses are trading profitably and continue to generate
annuity income and cash flows while costs are being managed.
Further to the trading statement issued on 4 August 2008, Cadiz advises that
basic earnings per share for the period are expected to be between 7 and 8 cents
per share (30 June 2007: 29.8 cents per share) and diluted headline earnings per
share to be 8 to 9 cents per share (30 June 2007: 28.7 cents per share).
Shareholders are reminded that Cadiz changed its financial year-end from 31
December to 31 March with effect from 2008. The most recently reported interim
results are therefore June 2007.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed or reported on by the group`s auditors.
Cadiz`s results for the period will be announced on SENS on Monday, 10 November
2008.
