APPOINTMENT OF CIO AND HEAD OF GROUP TECHNOLOGY
Nedbank Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Fred Swanepoel as Chief
Information Officer and head of group technology of Nedbank with effect from 1
November 2008. He has also been appointed to the Nedbank Group Executive
Committee.
Swanepoel (45) is currently heading up group software services at Nedbank. He
joined Nedbank in 1996 after eight years at the Small Business Development
Corporation. During his career at Nedbank he has had wide-ranging experience in
the technology division, being appointed a senior manager in 2004 with
responsibility for finance, risk and compliance and later assuming
responsibility for project and programme management.
Nedbank Group chief executive, Tom Boardman, said: "As a member of the group
technology executive team over the past number of years Fred has been closely
involved in the development of the bank`s technology strategy and key projects.
We look forward to benefiting from his leadership of the group technology
function."
Swanepoel`s appointment has been approved by the Registrar of Banks.
