CHANGE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Board wishes to announce the appointment of Professor Benjamin ("Ben") Marx
to the board of DigiCore as an independent non-executive director, with effect
from 3 November 2008. He will also be appointed as the new Chairman of the Audit
Committee, in line with recent amendments to the Companies Act, at the next
board meeting to be held.
Ben qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989. After completing his articles
at the audit firm Deloitte in 1992 he joined the Department of Accountancy of
the University of Free State as a senior lecturer and was promoted to associate
professor in 1994. In 1995 Ben joined the Department of Accountancy at RAU (now
the University of Johannesburg) as professor and head of the auditing section, a
position he currently holds.
He served on the audit committee of the university for 10 years, the finance
committee for 2 years and is a current member of the Management Risk Committee.
Ben is a member on numerous Institutes and regulatory boards. He has also
written various textbooks, research articles and other publications in the field
of auditing, corporate governance and audit committees.
Ben is married to Susan and has one daughter.
