APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTOR
Following the Company`s placement to ArcelorMittal as first notified on 21 April
2008, CoAL, the AIM/ASX/JSE listed coal development company operating in South
Africa, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Pierre Leonard as
ArcelorMittal`s nominee non-executive director, effective immediately.
Mr Leonard has a PhD in Industrial engineering from the University of Pretoria
in South Africa. With 13 years experience in the metals and mining industry, he
has held key positions in Strategy and Business Development. He is currently
based in London as General Manager, Mergers and Acquisitions for ArcelorMittal
and holds a number of directorships in unlisted subsidiaries of that company.
The board welcomes Pierre and looks forward to his contribution.
