CLARIFICATION: POTENTIAL OFFER FOR AVI LIMITED
Tiger Brands would like to clarify its position in the light of certain media
reports which have appeared since the release of the Tiger Brands announcement
regarding a potential offer for AVI Limited. Certain of these reports have
referred to the potential offer as "an offer", as if such offer had already been
made.
Tiger Brands wishes to re-iterate that the announcement, released on SENS on 17
November 2008, clearly specified that this announcement did not constitute a
firm intention to make an offer for the purposes of the Securities Regulation
Code on Takeovers and Mergers.
Tiger Brands is actively working towards making a firm intention announcement.
