CHANGES TO THE BOARD
In compliance with the requirements of paragraph 3.59 of the Listings
Requirements of the JSE Limited, CBL wishes to announce the following changes to
the Board of Directors:
Fred Palmer, having reached the mandatory retirement age, announced at the 2008
AGM that he would be retiring as Chairman and as a member of the Board before 31
December 2008. At a Board meeting held on 25 November 2008 his retirement was
accepted and he was thanked for his valuable contribution to the company over
the past 28 years, both as a Board member and as Chairman for the past 10 years.
Fred will retire on 30 November 2008.
CBL is pleased to announce that Guy Wayne will be appointed Chairman of Board
with effect from 1 December 2008. Guy (64), a former partner of Deloitte &
Touche, joined the CBL Board on 14 January 2008 as an independent non-executive
director. He is currently a director, trustee and/or independent audit
committee member of entities in the life and short-term insurance, financial
services and medical schemes industries.
