Resignation of Director
Notification is hereby given in accordance with the JSE Limited Listings
Requirements (par. 3.59(b)), that Maria Ramos has resigned as non-executive
director from the Boards of both Sanlam Limited ("Sanlam") and Sanlam Life
Insurance Limited with effect from 2 December 2008. Ms Ramos` resignation from
the above mentioned boards is as a result of her recent appointment, subject to
regulatory approval, as Group Chief Executive of Absa Group Limited. The Sanlam
Board wishes to thank Maria for her significant contributions to the Sanlam
Group and bid her well in her new appointment as CEO of the Absa Group.
