NEWS RELEASE - APPOINTMENT OF FINANCIAL DIRECTOR (DESIGNATE)
Diversified resources group Exxaro Resources Limited (Exxaro) today announced
that it has appointed Wim de Klerk as financial director, designate. Mr De Klerk
will be appointed financial director and join the Exxaro Board of directors with
effect from 1 March 2009.
The appointment has been made in light of the planned retirement of Exxaro`s
current financial director, Dirk van Staden, from Exxaro and its Board with
effect from 1 March 2009. Mr Van Staden`s retirement was previously announced in
the Exxaro Revised Listing Particulars on 9 October 2006.
Mr De Klerk is currently executive general manager for Exxaro`s mineral sands
and base metals commodity business. Prior to the unbundling of Kumba Resources
and the formation of Exxaro in November 2006, Mr De Klerk was responsible for
Kumba`s mineral sands commodity business. Before that, he joined Iscor Limited
in 1996 where he served in various senior management operations capacities, and
also as group general manager for strategy and continuous improvement.
Mr De Klerk is a chartered accountant and has completed the Executive Management
Programme at Darden and the Executive Marketing Programme at Harvard.
