INCREASED SHAREHOLDING IN MARAVEDI GROUP (PROPRIETARY) LIMITED ("MARAVEDI")
The JD Group wishes to announce that, further to its announcement on 17
September 2008, the Competition Commission authorities have unconditionally
approved the increase of JD Group`s shareholding in the issued capital of
Maravedi from 42,7% to 90,5% in terms of section 16(2) of the Competition Act.
JD Group acquired the shareholding previously held by Absa Bank Limited and
Maravedi Management Investment Company (Proprietary) Limited and is now the
controlling shareholder of Maravedi. Thebe Investment Corporation (Proprietary)
Limited holds the remaining 9,5% shareholding in Maravedi.
The content of this announcement is for shareholders` information only. The
transaction was neither a Category 1 nor a Category 2 transaction as defined in
terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited.
