TRADING STATEMENT
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, companies are required
to publish a Trading Statement as soon as they become reasonably certain that
the financial results for the period to be reported on next, will differ by more
than 20% from those of the previous corresponding period.
The board of directors of Merchant & Industrial Properties Limited advises that
its headline earnings per share for the 12 months ended 30 September 2008 is
expected to increase by between 280% and 300% on the 10,2 cents per share
reported for the 9 months ended 30 September 2007 and earnings per share is
expected to decrease by between 25% and 45% on the 87 cents per share reported
for the 9 months ended 30 September 2007.
The financial information contained in this Trading Statement has not been
reviewed or reported on by the company`s external auditors. Merchant &
Industrial Properties Limited will release its abridged audited results and post
its annual report for the 12 months ended 30 September 2008 on or about 23
December 2007.
