TRADING STATEMENT
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited ("JSE Listings
Requirements"), companies are required to publish a trading statement as soon as
they become aware that the financial results for the period to be reported upon
next will differ by at least 20% from the previous corresponding period.
Celcom advises that for the 6 month period ended 31 December 2008 ("the interim
period") the company expects to report a loss per share, whereas for the 6 month
period ended 31 December 2007 the company reported earnings of 2 cents per share
The company is not presently in a position to provide greater clarity in regard
to its results for the interim period. However, a further announcement in this
regard will be released as appropriate. Accordingly, shareholders are advised to
exercise caution when trading in Celcom shares until such further announcement
is made.
The financial results on which this trading statement has been based have not
been reviewed or reported on by the company`s auditors.
