SPG - Super Group - Trading Statement

ISIN number: ZAE000011334
Share code: SPG
("Super Group" or "the Group")
Trading Statement
Shareholders are hereby advised that Super Group is scheduled to release its
financial results for the six month period ended 31 December 2008 in early March
2009. Following recent volatility in Super Group`s share price and subsequent
press speculation, the financial results will confirm that Super Group`s
continuing businesses remain profitable and cash generative. These financial
results will show an improved Group balance sheet position with particular
emphasis on a reduction in net Group borrowings and gearing.
Headline earnings per share ("HEPS") from continuing operations for the six
months ended 31 December 2008 is expected to be between 12 cents to 16 cents, as
previously guided.
Group HEPS (including both continuing and discontinuing operations) for the six
months ended 31 December 2008 is expected to be a loss of between 12 cents to 18
cents. Group earnings per share (including both continuing and discontinuing
operations) for the six months ended 31 December 2008 is expected to be a loss
of between 80 cents to 90 cents. This is after the once-off fair value
adjustment of R250 million to R300 million resulting from the decision to
rationalise the Super Group Industrial Products business as previously advised.
Following the Fitch Ratings re-rating, the Group is in the process of
restructuring its debt funding.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed or reported on by Super Group`s auditors.
