DECLARED DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON BRITISH AMERICAN TOBACCO PLC ENHANCED DIVIDEND
SECURITIES - ("BTIIDA")
With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of British American
Tobacco plc have declared a final dividend of 61.6 pence per ordinary share
payable on 6 May 2009 to ordinary shareholders, recorded in the books of the
company at the close of business on 13 March 2009.
The currency exchange rate applicable for the dividend is 14.32310.
Accordingly, the warrant holders of the Enhanced Dividend Securities, BTIIDA,
will receive a British American Tobacco plc dividend of 882.30296 South African
cents per ordinary share on 6 May 2009 in terms of the Cession clause
incorporated in the Supplement between the holders and Investec Bank Limited.
The last day to trade ("cum" the dividend) in order to participate in the
dividend will be 6 March 2009.
BTIIDA Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading "ex" the dividend from
the commencement of business on 9 March 2009, and the record date will be 13
March 2009
