following information is disclosed:
Ms Maria Ramos has resigned as an independent non-executive director from the
Board of Remgro (the "Board") with effect from 26 February 2009.
On 1 March 2009, she will be joining Absa Group and in preparation for this, it
became necessary for her to step down from some of the non-executive
directorships that she currently occupies.
The Board wishes to thank her for her valuable contribution over the years.
