Retirement and appointment of Chairman
In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of JSE Limited,
the Company advises herewith that, with effect from today, Mr Gavan Ryan has
decided to retire as member and Chairman of the board of Coronation and
independent non-executive director, Shams Pather, has been elected to the
position of Chairman.
Coronation has been extremely privileged to have benefited from Mr Ryan`s
intellect, wisdom and insight as Chairman of the board, Chairman of the
remuneration committee and member of the audit and risk committee. Mr Ryan has
played a pivotal role in the delivery of significant shareholder value since his
appointment at listing in June 2003. Prior to this he was a founder member of
the formerly listed Coronation Holdings of which the Company was a wholly owned
subsidiary.
CEO Hugo Nelson comments "Gavan provided great perspective to the many
discussions regarding the business and the larger investment industry. We thank
him for his enormous contribution and wish him well for the future. He will be
sorely missed".
Shams Pather has served as an independent non-executive director since 2005 and
has more than 30 years experience in the asset management industry.
