TRADING STATEMENT
Shareholders are advised that Cape Empowerment Trust is expecting to report a
loss and headline loss per share for the year ended 31 December 2008 of between
84 to 98 cents per share and 76 to 92 cents per share respectively, mainly as a
result of unrealised impairments and downward fair value adjustments in the
company`s gaming and property sectors.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed or reported on by the company`s auditors. The reviewed results are
expected to be published on or about 31 March 2009.
