1. Introduction
Shareholders of York are referred to the annual general meeting held on 3
December 2008 during which the special resolution giving effect to Company
changing its name from The York Timber Organisation Limited to York Timber
Holdings Limited, was approved.
2. Rationale for the change of name
The rationale for the name change is to better identify the Company as a
holding and investment company.

Notes:
1 The dates and times provided in this announcement are subject to
amendment. Any such amendment will be announced on SENS and published in
the press. Shareholders will not be able to dematerialise or rematerialise
securities in the name of The York Timber Organisation Limited after
Thursday, 30 April 2009.
2 York shareholders who surrender their existing documents of title
after 12:00 on the Record Date, will have their new share certificates
mailed within five business days of receipt thereof by the transfer
secretaries, by registered post in South Africa, at the risk of the
shareholder concerned.
4. CIRCULAR TO SHAREHOLDERS
A circular to shareholders setting out the details of the name change, action to
be taken by shareholders and a surrender form for completion by certificated
shareholders, will be posted on Tuesday, 7 April 2009.
