Pursuant to DTR 6.1.11, Anglo American plc announces that the US$ notes
issued by Anglo American Capital plc guaranteed by Anglo American plc listed
below were issued on 8 April 2009 and have been admitted to listing on the
Official List of the U.K. Listing Authority and to trading on the London Stock
Exchange, a regulated market:
US$1,250,000 9.375% Senior Notes Due 2014
US$750,000,000 9.375% Senior Notes Due 2019
The notes were sold in the United States to qualified institutional buyers
under rule 144A of the US Securities Act of 1933, as amended (the "Securities
Act"), and outside the United States to non-US persons in reliance on
regulations of the Securities Act.
The notes listed above have not been, and will not be, registered under
the Securities Act, or under the securities legislation of any state of the
United States, and may not be offered or sold in the United States, other than
pursuant to an exemption from, or in a transaction not subject to, the
registration requirements of the Securities Act.
