UPDATED TRADING STATEMENT AND EXERCISE OF CAUTION
Shareholders are referred to the trading statement released on SENS on 31 March
2009 in terms of which the Company, based on information available to it at that
time, advised that headline earnings per share ("HEPS") was expected to be
between 5% and 15% lower than that reported in the comparative period and
earnings per share ("EPS") was expected to be between 60% and 70% lower. This
would have resulted in anticipated HEPS for the full year of between 58.7 cents
and 65.6 cents (2008: 69.0 cents) and EPS between 22.9 cents and 30.5 cents
(2008: 76.3 cents).
The Company has now neared the finalisation of the results for the financial
year ended 28 February 2009 and wishes to advise shareholders that HEPS is now
expected to be between 0% and 5% higher than that reported in the comparative
period and earnings per share ("EPS") is expected to be between 50% and 55%
lower. This will result in anticipated HEPS for the full year of between 69.0
cents and 72.4 cents (2008: 69.0 cents) and EPS between 34.3 cents and 38.2
cents (2008: 76.3 cents).
The positive movement in earnings between this and the previous trading
statement is mainly as a result of a reduction in the anticipated amount of
deferred tax assets to be reversed in the current financial year.
The financial information on which this updated trading statement is based has
not been reviewed or reported on by the Company`s auditors. The results for the
financial year ended 28 February 2009 will be released on SENS on 6 May 2009.

In light of the detailed terms announcement released on SENS on 31 March 2009
regarding the disposal of certain Flexible operations, shareholders are advised
that all the terms have been disclosed therefore caution is no longer required
