CHANGES TO THE BOARD AND IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS AND EXECUTIVE RESPONSIBLITIES
In compliance with section 3.59 (a) and (c) of the Listings Requirements of
the JSE Limited, shareholders are advised that the Board of Directors of
Yakani Infraco (Proprietary) Limited ("Yakani") (who owns 51% of African
Brick) has requested that Mr Hugo Knoetze, presently a non-executive director
of the company, assume the role of Chief Executive Officer ("CEO") of African
Brick with immediate effect. Mr Hugo Knoetze will take over responsibility of
the day to day operations of the company until such time as is deemed
necessary by the board. The current CEO, Mr Chris Strydom, has in turn been
requested to assume responsibility of Yakani`s other brick manufacturing
operations which trade under the "Brickveld" brand, but will remain on the
board of African Brick as an executive director.
Hugo Knoetze has significant business integration and consolidation
experience. The Board of Directors of Yakani and African Brick feel confident
that this move will deepen and accelerate the consolidation of this
investment.
