TRADING UPDATE
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited ("JSE"), companies
are required to publish a trading statement as soon as they are satisfied that
a reasonable degree of certainty exists that the financial results for the
period to be reported on will differ by 20% or more from the financial results
for the previous corresponding period.
Shareholders are advised that Ansys is currently finalising its results for
the twelve months ended 28 February 2009. The earnings and headline earnings
per share are expected to be between 0.85 and 1.00 cents per share (29 February
2008: earnings and headline earnings per share of 13.64 and 13.71 cents).
Financial performance was severely hampered during the first six months of
the year due to a low level of adjudication of tenders by the company`s main
customers. However, the company managed to return to improved profitability
levels during the second half of the year. The financial information on which
this trading statement is based has not been reviewed or reported on by Ansys`s
auditors.
The results for the year ended 28 February 2009 are expected to be published
on SENS by the middle of May 2009.
