UPDATE ON STATUS OF DIRECTORS AND FATAL ACCIDENT AT PAMODZI GOLD EAST RAND
OPERATIONS
In compliance with the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, the following
information is disclosed:
Further to the announcement released on SENS on 6 May 2009, shareholders are
advised that Ndaba Ntsele and Ken Steenkamp will continue to act as executive
directors, until such time that Pamodzi Gold appoints a new CEO.
In addition, it is with great regret that the management of Pamodzi Gold
announces the death of Ms. Nonceba Cynthia Dlamini, which occurred on the
morning of Sunday, 24 May 2009, at Number 1 Shaft, K8 level, Grootvlei.
Pamodzi Gold management, in conjunction with the Department of Minerals and
Energy and Organised Labour, has commenced a full investigation into the factors
that resulted in this tragedy.
This incident is being treated as an accident even though there are strong
possibilities that natural or other causes may also be a factor. The post
mortem findings are awaited.
On behalf of all the employees at the Pamodzi Gold East Rand operations, Graham
Chamberlain, the general manager at the operations, extends his condolences to
the Dlamini family, colleagues and friends.
