Imperial Bank has been informed that Imperial Holdings Limited ("Imperial
Holdings") has entered into discussions with Nedbank Group Limited ("NGL")
regarding the acquisition by NGL of Imperial Holdings` interest in Imperial
Bank. Preference shareholders and the holders of subordinated debt are advised
to exercise caution when dealing in their securities until a further
announcement is made.
