GOLD ONE IS CLASSIFIED AS AN AFRICAN COMPANY
Gold One is pleased to announce that it has been classified as an "African
Company" in terms of the provisions of section H.(B)(ii) of the Exchange Control
Rulings published by the Exchange Control Department of the South African
Reserve Bank.
The status is relevant to South African ("SA") institutional investors only in
respect of their foreign asset limits. SA institutional investors will now be
allowed to increase their foreign exposure of retail assets by investing an
additional 5% of their total retail assets ("addition") in African inward listed
securities which securities may include Gold One securities. The addition
increases the foreign asset limits as follows:
- from 20% to 25% for retirement funds and the underwritten policy business
of long-term insurers; and
- from 30% to 35% for investment managers, collective investment scheme
management companies and the investment linked business of long-term
insurers.
Gold One holds a dual primary listing on the Australian Securities Exchange
under Industry classification: "Metals and Mining" and on JSE Limited ("JSE") on
the "Mining: Gold Mining" sector of the JSE List.
