GOLD ONE TO RAISE AUD37.5 MILLION
Gold One International is pleased to announce that it has resolved to raise up
to approximately AUD37.5 million (ZAR244 million, US$ 29 million*).Hartleys
Limited ("Hartleys") is broker to the issue.
The capital raising to predominantly Australian and international institutional
clients of Hartleys` will see the placement of 120 million ordinary shares at
ZAR 2.03338/AUD 0.31 per share.
Commenting on the success of the placement, Gold One President and CEO Neal
Froneman stated "Gold One is delighted with the support received for this
capital raising from new Australian and international institutional investors.
The success of the capital raising ensures that Gold One will be able to fast-
track activities on its South African gold projects, and in particular, advance
drilling and feasibility studies at our Ventersburg Project, which Gold One
considers has the potential to become its second flagship project, and in time
to grow well beyond even the scale of Modder East. In addition, the capital
raising will allow Gold One to offer early redemption for some of its bonds,
which the Board considers is a prudent capital management strategy."
The funds raised pursuant to the offer will be applied predominantly to:
- drilling and feasibility studies at the Ventersburg Project;
- drilling at Modder East and Sub Nigel with a view to increasing resources
and reserves;
- other exploration;
- corporate growth initiatives;
- contribute towards working capital and the costs of the capital raising;
and
- make an offer of partial repayment to Gold One bondholders.
The placement in Gold One will be made in two tranches. The allotment of up to
33.6 million tranche one shares falls within Gold One`s general authority and is
not subject to shareholder approval. The allotment of up to 86.4 million tranche
two shares will be issued subject to shareholder approval at a meeting of
shareholders indicatively scheduled for late August 2009.
