TRADING STATEMENT
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, shareholders are
advised that, for the year ended 31 March 2009, the company is expecting an
attributable loss per share, compared to attributable earnings per share in the
prior year. The attributable earnings per share and headline earnings per share
for the year ended 31 March 2008 of R47.96 and R15.31 per share respectively are
expected to have declined to an approximate attributable and headline loss of
R2.50 per share respectively for the current year.
This change has been occasioned by a downward fair value adjustment of
investments, whereas in the prior year there was a profit on the unbundling of
net assets and a positive fair value adjustment of investments.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed or reported on by the company`s auditors.
ElementOne`s financial results for the year ended 31 March 2009 are scheduled to
be released before the end of June 2009.
