RESIGNATION OF COMPANY SECRETARY AND APPOINTEMNT OF FIANCIAL DIRECTOR AND NEW
COMPANY SECRETARY OF GPI
In compliance with section 3.59(b) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited ("JSE Listings Requirements"), notification is hereby given that Mr.
Ralph Freese ("Ralph") has resigned as company secretary of GPI with immediate
effect. The board expresses its appreciation for the commitment and contribution
that Mr. Freese has made during his tenure.
In compliance with sections 3.84 (h), 4.8(b) and 7.F.6 of the JSE`s Listings
Requirements, notification is hereby given that Mr Richard Julian Hoption
("Richard") has been appointed as the Financial Director and new Company
Secretary of GPI with immediate effect.
Richard was appointed to the board of GPI in March 2008 as CEO in anticipation
of the company`s listing on the JSE, and remained on the board after stepping
aside as CEO and facilitating the appointment of the current CEO in September
2008. Richard is a qualified C.A.(S.A.) and has a wealth of investment and
financial management experience spanning his 20 year career, including Financial
Manager of a subsidiary of the listed Metair Limited, as well Financial Manager,
Senior Operations Manager and Regional Investment Manager (KZN) for a specialist
property development and investment division of NBS Bank Limited, (later BOE
Bank Limited and now Nedbank Limited), which also saw Richard being appointed to
various boards of property investment and development companies. Since GPI`s
listing, Richard has continued to be part of the executive management of the
company and has already played a significant role in GPI`s investments, and in
the development of GPI`s financial and management accounting and reporting. The
board wishes to take this opportunity to congratulate Richard on his
appointment.
