APPOINTMENT OF EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
In accordance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited, the board of directors of ChemSpec are pleased to announce the
appointment of Mr. Robert Simpson to the board as an executive director with
effect from 24 June 2009.
Mr. Robert Simpson started working in the paint industry in Zimbabwe in 1982.
He then moved to South Africa and joined a prominent paint manufacturer in 1985
and remained with this company for twelve years, acting as the Automotive
Refinish Director for six of the twelve years. Mr. Simpson then moved onto
Distribution of Refinish Products as Managing Director of a large national
distributor. He restructured the company and sold it to BASF, a German based
company, where he continued to manage the company on their behalf until December
2008, a total of twelve years. He subsequently joined ChemSpec`s International
Division, and has now been appointed to the board.
