BLUE RECEIVES A US$10 MILLION LOAN PORTOLIO GUARANTEE FROM USAID
Blue announced the conclusion of a US$10 million loan portfolio guarantee, from
the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) valid for the
next 10 years, subject to South African Reserve Bank approval.
This facility is specifically allocated to Blue`s small business development
division, and will cover 50% of any loss experienced by Blue on SMME loans
within the USAID-backed loan portfolio.
The establishment of this loan portfolio guarantee follows on the recent
announcement by Blue that it has embarked on an aggressive campaign to grow its
small business development division.
