Increase in ferrochrome production
Shareholders of Merafe are advised that in response to a strengthening in
demand for ferrochrome, the Xstrata-Merafe Chrome Venture ("the Venture")
has increased ferrochrome production capacity to 60% through the re-
commissioning of several furnaces at the Venture`s five ferrochrome
operations.
Ferrochrome demand is being monitored on a continuous basis and capacity
utilisation will be adjusted in line with such variations in demand.
