CHANGES TO EXXARO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Diversified resources group Exxaro Resources Limited (Exxaro) today announced
the following non-executive director changes to the group`s board of
directors.
Mr Philip Baum has stepped down from the board effective 15 July 2009 and Mr
Chris Griffith has joined the board effective from today.
Mr Baum has represented Anglo American plc on the Exxaro board since Exxaro
listed on the JSE Limited in 2006 as part of the unbundling and re-listing of
Kumba Resources Limited. Prior to that, since 2004 he served as a non-
executive director on the Kumba board.
"Reluctantly, it has become necessary for me to stand down from the Exxaro
board due to other corporate commitments that require travel outside of the
country for extended periods. It has been a privilege to have played a role in
Exxaro`s formative years of development and I am pleased that the board has
approved the Anglo nomination of Mr Chris Griffith," said Mr Baum.
Mr Griffith is the chief executive officer of Kumba Iron Ore Limited. He is a
member of the Anglo American Ferrous Metals Divisional Executive Committee and
the former head of joint ventures at Anglo Platinum. He is also an active
executive member of the Chamber of Mines.
Sipho Nkosi, Exxaro`s chief executive officer, paid tribute to the guiding
role Mr Baum played in Exxaro`s growth and strategic positioning. He welcomed
Mr Griffith to the board.
