Appointment of Lead Independent Director
In compliance with section 3.59 of the JSE Limited`s Listings Requirements,
Altron shareholders are advised that pursuant to Dr WP Venter assuming the role
and title of non-executive chairman of the company, Mr MJ Leeming has been
appointed as lead independent director on the board of Altron, with effect from
3 August 2009.
Mr Leeming, who has served on the Altron board as an independent non-executive
director since 2002, is the chairman of the Altron Risk Management Committee, as
well as a member of the Altron Audit and Nomination Committees. He also acts as
the chairman of the Powertech Financial Review and Risk Committee.
In addition to having previously acted as the chief operating officer of Nedcor
Bank Limited, Mr Leeming is a non-executive director of AECI Limited, Imperial
Holdings Limited, Real Africa Holdings Limited and Woolworths Holdings Limited.
