DECLARED DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON BHP BILLITON PLC HOT ENHANCED DIVIDEND
SECURITIES - ("BILIHE")
With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of BHP Billiton plc
have declared a final dividend of 41.0 US cents per ordinary share payable on
25 September 2009 to ordinary shareholders, recorded in the books of the company
at the close of business on 4 September 2009.
The declared dividend will be subject to currency conversions based on the
foreign currency exchange rates which will take place on the last day to trade
on the JSE Limited, being the 28 August 2009. Any currency conversions made
after this date will not apply to this dividend.
The last day to trade ("cum" the dividend) in order to participate in the
dividend will be 28 August 2009.
BILIHE Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading "ex" the dividend
from the commencement of business on 31 August 2009, and the record date will be
4 September 2009.
A further announcement will be made highlighting the exact Rand amount on the 28
August 2009.
