DECLARED DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON BHP BILLITON PLC HOT ENHANCED DIVIDEND
SECURITIES - ("BILIHE")
With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of BHP Billiton plc
have declared a final dividend of 318.328100 SA cents per ordinary share based
on an exchange rate of US$1 = R7.764100 payable on 25 September 2009 to
ordinary shareholders, recorded in the books of the company at the close of
business on 4 September 2009.
Accordingly, the warrant holders of the Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities,
BILIHE, will receive a BHP Billiton plc interim dividend of 318.328100 cents per
security on 25 September 2009, in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in
the Supplement between the holders and Investec Bank Limited. The last day to
trade ("cum" the dividend) in order to participate in the dividend will be 28
August 2009.
BILIHE Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading "ex" the dividend
from the commencement of business on 31 August 2009, and the record date will be
4 September 2009.
