Eastern Cape Gambling Board announces The Boardwalk as preferred bidder
Further to the report under the heading "Eastern Cape Casino Licences" in
Sun International`s profit and dividend announcement for the year ended
30 June 2009, Sun International is pleased to advise that the Eastern Cape
Gambling & Betting Board has today announced Emfuleni Resorts (Pty) Limited
as the preferred bidder for the new casino licence to be issued in the Port
Elizabeth-centred Zone 1 of the Province.
The final award of the licence will depend upon and follow the Eastern Cape
Provincial Government`s sanction of the Gambling Board`s decision, and the
successful negotiation of the conditions to attach to the new licence. The
term of the licence is 15 years, effective from October 2010.
