APPOINTMENT OF HEAD OF BUSINESS BANKING
Nedbank Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Sandile Shabalala as
Managing Executive: Business Banking with effect from 15 October 2009, reporting
to Ingrid Johnson, Managing Executive: Retail and Business Banking. He has also
been appointed to the Nedbank Group Executive Committee (Group Exco).
Sandile (43) is currently Divisional Executive responsible for the Northern
Business Unit in Business Banking. He joined Nedbank initially in 1993 and has
had wide-ranging banking and leadership experience across the group.
Nedbank Group Chief Executive, Tom Boardman, said: "Sandile is an accomplished
banker with 11 years of experience with the group and has led a key business
unit within Business Banking since 2005. We are fortunate to be able to appoint
a candidate of his calibre from within the bank into this senior position.
Sandile`s appointment further transforms the leadership of the bank and our
Group Exco now includes six black executives, two of whom are female."
