TRADING STATEMENT
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited ("JSE"), companies are
required to publish a trading statement as soon as they are satisfied that a
reasonable degree of certainty exists that the financial results for the period
to be reported on will differ by 20% or more from the financial results for the
previous corresponding period.
Shareholders are advised that Gooderson is currently finalising its interim
results for the six months ended 31 August 2009 and are advised that the
earnings and headline earnings per share are expected to be between 15% and 25%
below those of the previous corresponding period.
Gooderson`s financial performance for the six months was negatively affected by
the current global economic crisis resulting in a significant decline in both
local and international tourism as well as a downturn in conference bookings.
A recovery is expected during the second half of the year, as this is
traditionally the prime holiday period for local tourists.
The financial information, on which this trading statement is based, has not
been reviewed or reported on by Gooderson`s auditors.
The results for the six months ended 31 August 2009 are expected to be published
on SENS in the last week of October 2009.
