Executive Management Appointment
Tiger Brands is pleased to announce the appointment of Boniface Ngarachu as
Managing Executive responsible for the Company`s International operations.
Boniface will bring to Tiger Brands valuable experience having held the position
of Finance Director and Director of Strategic Business Process Development for
Smithkline Beecham Consumer Healthcare in their East African Region between 1991
and 1997. He has also held executive responsibilities at Uganda Telecoms and is
joining the Company having held the position of Group Executive for
Organisational Effectiveness at Great Basin Gold.
Boniface, who is a Ugandan national, is a Certified Public Accountant and
Certified Corporate Secretary, with an MBA from the Ashridge Management College
in the UK, will assume his new responsibilities on 2 November 2009.
Peter Matlare, Chief Executive of Tiger Brands, said the appointment of Boniface
will facilitate the increasing focus on the Company`s international expansion
strategy particularly into the rest of Africa.
Executive Management Responsibilities
Tiger Brands confirms the following senior executive responsibilities:
As indicated above, Boniface Ngarachu assumes responsibility for the
International operations of Tiger Brands with effect from 2 November 2009;
Thabi Segoale holds responsibility for the Company`s Grains operations and
responsibility for the Group`s Supply Chain function;
Neil Brimacombe holds responsibility for the remainder of the Company`s food
businesses in South Africa which include the Groceries, Snacks & Treats,
Beverages, Value Added Meat Products and Out of Home divisions. Neil Brimacombe
also holds responsibility for the Company`s investments in Langeberg & Ashton
Foods (Pty) Limited and Empresas Carozzi (Chile).
Brenda Koornneef holds responsibility for the Home and Personal Care categories,
including Baby, and also has responsibility for the Group Marketing Function.
