CHANGES TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
As was announced on SENS on 14 October 2009, Jasco is currently restructuring
its board of directors to improve efficiency, expertise and compliance with new
corporate governance frameworks.
In compliance with paragraph 3.59(a) of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited, shareholders are hereby advised that Mr AM (Pete) da Silva has been
appointed as an independent non-executive director to the group`s board, with
effect from 30 October 2009.
Da Silva brings a wealth of business and telecommunications experience to the
team. He has more than 20 years` experience with Siemens South Africa, where
his duties included heading up the Siemens business development team in the
sales environment, moving up to become the Chief Operational Officer and then
the Chief Executive Officer of Siemens Telecommunications South Africa. In
2005, Pete became the group CEO for Siemens Southern Africa. Under his
leadership, Siemens took up first place in most of its market segments. Post
Siemens, he became the group CEO of A1GP, the World Cup of motor sport until
March 2009. As part of his duties, he transformed it from a start-up event to
its current position where 21 nations from five continents participate.
The board welcomes Da Silva to Jasco and believes he will add tremendous value
to the group`s overall business direction, as well as specialised input into the
group`s majority division of Telecommunications.
