BARLOWORLD TO PROVIDE A NEW POWER STATION FOR NAMPOWER AT WALVIS BAY
Barloworld Namibia has been awarded an EPCT (engineer procure, construct,
turnkey) contract valued at R250 million (NAD250 million) by the Namibian
electricity utility, NamPower, for a new power station at Walvis Bay.
The project will be carried out by Barloworld Power, the southern African dealer
for Cat power products and the Barloworld group`s specialist turnkey power
solutions provider.
The power station, to be named Anixas, will provide additional power to the fast
growing uranium mining sector on the Namibian west coast. It will produce 21.5
megawatts (MW) using diesel powered generator sets.
Construction will commence immediately and Barloworld Power is due to commission
the fast track project in December 2010.

supplied by Caterpillar."
