COURT THROWS OUT PUNO GOLD INVESTMENTS` REQUEST FOR URGENT INTERDICT TO HALT
CENTRAL RAND GOLD`S TRIAL MINING ACTIVITIES
Central Rand Gold, following the hearing today, Thursday, 5 November 2009, is
pleased to announce that the "urgent interdict" sought by Puno Gold Investments
(Pty) Limited to halt the company`s trial mining operations has been dismissed
by the South Gauteng High Court. In addition, Puno is required to pay all legal
costs associated with this dispute
Reacting to the Court`s decision, CRG`s CEO, Johan du Toit, said:
"We are pleased that this unnecessary distraction caused by Puno has now been
dismissed in its entirety by the independent court. The court case has not
delayed the development of our assets and we look forward to progressing with
trial mining, which is the springboard towards full-scale commercial gold mining
in our Johannesburg mining right area."
Central Rand Gold is listed on the London Stock Exchange and on the JSE Limited
in Johannesburg. It was awarded its first New Order Mining Right in August 2008.
Trial mining began in September 2009 at Slot 8 situated at its Consolidated Main
Reef tenement in southern Johannesburg. The Company is actively involved in the
communities in which its mining operations are situated through employment,
training, education, sport and small business development initiatives.
