Mobile Termination Rates
The Minister of Communication announced this afternoon that Vodacom, MTN and
Cell C have agreed a reduction in mobile termination rates ("MTRs") that will be
submitted to the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA).
Peak rates will reduce from R1.25 to R0.89. Off peak rates will not change.
The revised rates will be effective in February 2010.
