CHANGE TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
In compliance with the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, AFGRI announces the
following change to its Board:
Mr Jethro Mbau has been selected by the AFGRI Board to succeed Mr Dave de Beer
as independent non-executive Chairman of AFGRI. The appointment will be
effective from 1 January 2010. Mr de Beer, who reaches the AFGRI mandatory
retirement age for directors in 2010, will step down as Chairman on 1 January
2010 but will remain as a director of AFGRI until the next AFGRI annual general
meeting in 2010. He will also remain Chairman of the AFGRI Audit & Risk
Management Committee.
The Board expresses its gratitude towards Mr de Beer for his contribution and
leadership during the past three years.
Mr Mbau has been on the AFGRI Board for the past three years and is currently
the Chairman of the Credit Committee as well as a member of the Audit & Risk
Management Committee. Mr Mbau is a director of Regent Insurance and is also a
former Chairman of the Land Bank.
The Board wishes to congratulate Mr Mbau on his appointment.
