NORTH WINDER OUTAGE
This communication is to inform shareholders that production will be reduced by
approximately 15% for the period 25 November to 15 December 2009.
During routine inspection of the production North Winder on 25 November 2009
cracks were discovered in the winder drum. Palabora has two winders. The South
Winder is unaffected and is fully operational. Repair work started on 27
November and the winder is expected to return to operation on 15 December 2009.
A supplemental feed supply is being sourced from smelter secondary materials and
from reclaiming existing ore stockpiles on surface. Accordingly Palabora will
be producing at approximately 85% capacity for the duration of the repair.
