CHANGES TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
In compliance with the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, AFGRI announces the
following changes to its Board:
The Board is pleased to announce the appointment of two additional independent
non-executive directors to the Board namely Mr David Barber and Mr Lwazi Koyana
with effect from 11 January 2010.
Mr Barber is the former global chief financial officer of Anglo Coal, a division
of the Anglo American plc Group. He is also the former chief financial officer
of Anglo American Corporation of South Africa. The majority of his career was
spent in the Anglovaal Group prior to its unbundling where held the position of
group chief financial officer. He Chairs the audit committee of Murray & Roberts
and is a member of the audit committee of Telkom.
Mr Koyana, a chartered accountant by training has investment and structured
finance experience which he gained during his time as an investment analyst as
well as in his current financial consultancy business where he was involved in
various transactions. Mr Koyana is the current founder and managing director of
Nations Capital Advisors.
The Board wishes to congratulate Messrs Barber and Koyana on their appointments.
The Board also regrettably accepts the resignation of Mr Clive Apsey from the
Board with effect from 1 January 2010. Mr Apsey has been a member of the Board
for the past five years and his contributions and wealth of industry knowledge
have been of immense value. Mr Apsey resigned due to health reasons.
