As part of the dual listed company structure, Mondi Limited and Mondi plc
(together `Mondi Group`) notify both the JSE Limited and the London Stock
Exchange of matters required to be disclosed under the JSE listings requirements
and/or the Disclosure and Transparency Rules and Listing Rules of the United
Kingdom Listing Authority.
Announcement Regarding Potential Acquisition
Mondi Group (`Mondi`) confirms that negotiations are progressing concerning a
transaction that would involve Mondi acquiring Smurfit Kappa Group`s (`SKG`)
European sack converting operations and SKG acquiring Mondi`s corrugated
operations in the United Kingdom.
The transaction is subject to the normal procedures and conditions attaching to
such transactions, and is also subject to regulatory clearances.
There is no certainty that any such transaction will occur. A further
announcement may be made as appropriate.
