Changes to the board of directors
New appointments:
In accordance with section 3.59 of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, Cipla
Medpro shareholders are advised that Messrs Sandile Zungu and Johan du Preez
have been appointed as independent non-executive directors of Cipla Medpro with
immediate effect.
Mr Zungu is the executive chairman and founder of Zungu Investments Company
(Zico) which has diversified holdings in various sectors including Financial
Services, Media, Resources and Gaming. He has a wealth of corporate experience,
and was the chairman of Barnard Jacobs Mellet Holdings, in addition to serving
on many other companies` boards. In addition to a BSc degree and a MBA from the
UCT Graduate School of Business, Mr Zungu also has certification in Global
Leadership from the Harvard Business School in Boston, USA.
Mr du Preez is currently the CEO of ADATO Capital, a niche financing
organisation, as well as the founder and director of SAAD Investment Holdings,
an investment company focusing on establishing new financial services entities.
Mr du Preez has been involved in various industries including Retail, Clinical
Management/Pharmacology, Claims Processing & Administration, Medical Insurance &
Risk Management, Retail Investments, Life Insurance & Financing, and has
extensive corporate experience, including holding the positions of CEO of Sanlam
Health, as well as the CEO of Innofin. Mr du Preez has a MPharm from the
University of Pretoria, as well as a MBA from the National University in San
Diego, California.
Extension of contracts:
Cipla Medpro executive directors, Jerome Smith (CEO) and Chris Aucamp (CFO),
have reaffirmed their commitment to the group through the extension of their
contracts until 31 December 2015.
