APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AND DIRECTOR OF COUNTRY ROAD
Country Road Limited (CTY), a subsidiary of Woolworths Holdings, listed on the
Australian Stock Exchange, today announced the appointment of John Cheston as
Chief executive officer and Board director with effect from 1 July 2010.
Mr Cheston has more than two decades of senior retail experience. Most recently
Mr Cheston was CEO of Robinsons & Co Ltd, Singapore`s largest listed retailer
which has two Robinsons department stores, seven John Little department stores
and six Marks & Spencer franchises in its portfolio. Prior to this,
Mr Cheston spent 18 years at Marks & Spencer, first in the UK and then in Hong
Kong.
Country Road Chairman, Simon Susman, said: "John Cheston has exceptional
international retail and leadership experience and we are delighted to welcome
him to the business. We are confident he will steer Country Road to a position
of even greater strength and prominence."
