PRIVATE PLACING PRICE
With reference to the prospectus, dated 11 March 2010, and the announcement
released on SENS on 18 March 2010, relating to an offer for sale of shares and
subscription in Optimum Coal ordinary shares (the "Offer") comprising the
following:
a private placing by way of an offer for subscription of a maximum of 24,000,000
new ordinary shares of R0.000005 each in the share capital of Optimum Coal; and
a private placing by way of an offer for sale by existing shareholders of
18,750,000 ordinary shares of R0.000005 each in the share capital of Optimum
Coal.
The shares were placed at R32 per share ("Placement Price") in terms of a book
building process. As a result, shares of Optimum Coal with a total value of
R1,368,000,000 were placed through the private placing.
The settlement date and expected listing date of Optimum Coal, subject to
achieving a spread of shareholders acceptable to the JSE Limited, will be
Monday, 29 March 2010.
